MD Gold MedalistConsultant Psychiatrist • MBBS, MD Psychiatry

Mental healthcare begins with understanding.
At MANAM, we look beyond symptoms to understand the person experiencing them: their thoughts, emotions, behaviour, circumstances and the people around them.
Psychiatric care may involve medication, psychotherapy, or a combination of both, depending on the individual's needs.
Meet Dr. Bhoomi Raval
Consultant Psychiatrist | MBBS, MD Psychiatry (Gold Medalist)
I believe psychiatric care begins with understanding the person, not simply identifying a diagnosis.
Every individual brings their own thoughts, experiences, relationships and circumstances to what they are going through. My role as a psychiatrist is to understand these layers carefully, arrive at an appropriate clinical assessment, and work with the individual towards meaningful recovery.
My approach combines psychiatric assessment, evidence-based treatment and psychotherapy, with the understanding that different people may need different forms of care at different stages.
I have a particular interest in Depression, anxiety and mood disorders, OCD, psychotic disorders, adolescent and women's mental health, trauma-related concerns, de-addiction and sexual health. My psychotherapy work includes CBT, REBT and integrated approaches.
“You do not have to arrive with all the answers. You can simply come with what you are experiencing. We can understand the rest together.”

How we can help

Anxiety & panic
Persistent worry, excessive fear, panic attacks, physical symptoms of anxiety and difficulty coping with everyday situations.
Depression & mood disorders
Persistent low mood, loss of interest, changes in sleep or appetite, reduced energy, mood fluctuations and other difficulties affecting daily life.
OCD
Obsessions, unwanted intrusive thoughts and repetitive behaviours or mental rituals that can become difficult to control.
Bipolar disorder
Significant changes in mood, energy, activity and behaviour, including episodes of depression and periods of elevated or unusually activated mood/ mania.
Psychosis & schizophrenia
Experiences such as hallucinations, delusions, significant changes in behaviour or difficulty distinguishing experiences from reality.
Trauma-related concerns
Emotional and psychological difficulties following traumatic or overwhelming experiences, including persistent fear, avoidance, intrusive memories or changes in mood and behaviour.
Not sure where your symptoms fit?
That's okay. You don't need to diagnose yourself before seeking help.
Therapy is not just about talking.
Psychotherapy is a structured process that can help you understand patterns in your thoughts, emotions and behaviour, work through difficulties, and develop more effective ways of responding to them.
At MANAM, therapy is tailored to the individual's concerns, clinical needs and goals. It may be used on its own or alongside psychiatric treatment and medication.
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy
CBTWorking with patterns of thoughts, emotions and behaviours that may be contributing to distress.
Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy
REBTExploring unhelpful beliefs and developing healthier, more flexible ways of responding to situations.
Integrated psychotherapy
DBT / HumanisticDrawing from approaches such as DBT, existential and humanistic therapy when appropriate, rather than following a one-size-fits-all model.
“You don't have to know exactly what you need from therapy before you begin. The first step is understanding what you're going through.”
